This product is the right choice if you have a FANATEC wheelbase but want to use a different (non Fanatec) steering wheel on it.
There are two things you need if you want to use a non Fanatec steering wheel on a Fanatec wheelbase.
Our Emulator product allows you to do both of these. It includes an adapter plate to allow bolting the Fanatec quick release (which has a non-standard bolt pattern) to a 70mm or 50.8mm hole profile wheel. (These are the most common hole patterns)
The Emulator basically pretends to be a Fanatec steering wheel which makes the wheelbase enable force feedback.
Simply attach a Fanatec QR1 or QR2 to one side of the emulator and the other side to your steering wheel. Then you can use your wheel with the Fanatec wheelbase.
Please note that you cannot connect any wheel functions through the Emulator. Your wheel must connect directly to your PC either using wireless or a USB cable. Fanatec do not have any USB connections through the quick release. The Emulator is simply to allow attaching a Fanatec quick release and making the wheelbase give force feedback.
For a DIY or custom wheel we offer a Pro version of the Emulator. This will allow you to attach buttons, a Hat switch, gear shifters and even the Fanatec button addons. This is a different product although this version can be upgraded later if required.
Version 7 of the SRM Emulator allows the code on it to be changed via a USB cable. It is intended that you will be able to choose the Fanatec steering wheel you would like the emulator to show up as. The initial wheel will show as the Universal Hub V2
This product works with. these Fanatec wheel bases…
This is for PC use only – We do not expect it to work on an XBOX or PS4
